If you’re brand involves fashion or accessories, it’s pretty likely that travel photography can help out your brand! Showing your products in beautiful places of the world can help you connect with your audience, build diversity in your brand, and broaden your reach. Chances are, most of your target audience fall into two groups: a) they love to travel, and wish they could travel more, or b) they don’t love traveling, but do enjoy seeing beautiful things in the world. Here’s how incorporating travel photography into your brand can help you!
Connect with your audience
Most people in one way or another have an interest in traveling & travel photos. Showing your products in another part of the world incorporates an element of excitement and wonder! This can help potential clients gain interest in your brand. This is especially true in social media marketing. Travel photos are quite popular on Instagram, and tapping into this can help you connect with more people!
Build diversity in your brand
I’ve had the opportunity to watch a budding luxury shoe brand start building their clientele. One of their marketing strategies was to take photos that fit in interesting places where their target market would be – places like Los Angeles and New York City. This had multiple benefits – one of which was it built diversity in their brand. Instead of looking like they were in Lindon, Utah (where their headquarters are), they successfully created an international luxury men’s shoe brand.
Broaden your reach
Taking images in places around the world can broaden your reach. When you photograph in a new location and share that on social media, many people will probably see your posts than would normally. This is especially true in famous locations, such as the Eiffel Tower or Times Square – simply because of the massive amounts of people viewing those images on Instagram.
Be on Trend
In December 2018, Adobe released their Visual Trend forecast for 2019. As we know, Adobe is one of the leading companies in the world in imagery and photography. They research what visual trends are coming, and what they mean to consumers and businesses. They found in 2019, consumers will be less attracted to fleeting fads, shares, and likes. Instead, they will overall be attracted to images that “capture passionate, beautiful, contentious, messy cultural conversations about values, how we express our individuality and experiences, and how we find refuge in tumultuous times”.
The first major trend they predicted was called “Natural Instincts”. Basically, as our use and time using technology increases, we feel increasingly distant from the physical world. This is leading more people to intentionally seek out more time in nature. This means that images featuring beautiful places in nature will connect more with the average consumer.
